Endless opportunities

We wish to speak to you of the anatomy of an insult. When you perceive an insult, you were already not feeling peaceful, but you didn’t notice. When someone seemed to insult you, it seemed to cause pain, but the pain was already there. It was just covered over and being ignored. The insult actually helped you to notice that the pain was there–the depth of it and the actual effect of holding on to it. In this way, an insult can be seen as a favor and not an injury. The insult alerted you that you are covering up your peace with something painful.

If you value how you feel, you are more likely to feel the pain of turning away from Spirit, more likely to take action to reorient yourself toward what is helpful. When you are oriented toward what is truly helpful, you don’t need an alarm to help you notice how you are feeling.

We want to address the idea of “letting someone insult you.” If it seemed to happen, you already let them do it. You can laugh and move on. This idea that you are training the person to insult you when you don’t push back on what is perceived as an insult is just that–an idea. Just because one particular one seems to have insulted someone in what is already the past does not at all mean that it will happen again.

This is an opportunity to see your strong beliefs about personality–about how this one is compared to that one, about how you know what to expect from the different bodies because they act in predictably different ways. You are the one who does the assigning, and you are the one who does the experiencing. Meanwhile, here they are, as they are within–perfect and pure always. They are perfect and pure because you are perfect and pure. It is safe to spend your time remembering this and looking upon this.

Everyone is offered endless opportunities and support. You cannot experience anything that is not an opportunity. You cannot have an experience that does not have an element of support within it in some way. Let’s say you are having a challenging experience with another. If you get curious about the inner anatomy of that one, you can actually “go in” to their being. You can see how much they are loved.

You can see their innocence. You can see the great strength within them. You can see how connected they are to all you call other. Their outer does not have to match this glorious inner in any way for you to be able to see this. Their outer becomes less and less meaningful and therefore more and more flexible. As you focus more upon the love that they are, you allow this love to take up the reins of their character.

Their person can’t please you. Ego tells you that you should go after pleasure, and that it is possible for persons to please you. Go straight to joy. Find out what is innermost in everyone you see or think of, and rest in this joy. You “go in” to someone you call else just by orienting your thoughts in that direction, remembering that light and joy are within them. Remind yourself often about what is real about every being regardless of surface, and remember your ability to rest in what is real and true about you all.

Ego suggests specific things to fight against and keeps you busy with struggle. The way ego suggest specific things to fight against is by analyzing situations and people. It picks out separate elements that it says are qualities of the situations or the people, and it tells you to resist them. Feel this energy of resistance. And remember that it is not necessary.

To drop your resistance to what is actually here is to drop your resistance to love. To resist something specific is to give it a power it never had. You can experience that someone or something has power over the one you call you simply because you believe in power over. Power with is real and is always here. Shift your attention to the real power of goodness without opposite that you share with everyone and everything, and you allow a story to emerge that reminds all of who they are right now and who they have always been. It is always very good news.

While your ego doesn’t know, there is always one who does know within you. There is a natural certainty about what to do and what to say, and also when it is most appropriate to allow the doing and the saying to subside. Think of the vast, spacious, open, calm, peaceful stillness that is vibrantly alive within everyone and everything. Does it really matter what labels you use to call things when this beautiful, present stillness is alive and powerful right now?

The one who does know is equally with and within everything and everyone you see. That’s why trust and faith are always appropriate. It is impossible to trust in a chaotic surface of illusion, but you can trust what has been shining steadily behind that surface for all of time. You have never been without this ability to recognize what is real and present. You share this ability with all, and as you claim and use it, you make it obvious. This power shared leads to your greatest happiness.

When you know how to see things in the right way, everything points toward happiness. We love helping you see.
