Shining behind all surfaces

You can’t really explain one illusion in terms of another, but you can remember that all things work together for good. All ego’s explanations are nonsense, and when you understand this, you can be quiet and listen without judgment. This resting and waiting will supply you with all that you need. If you need to speak, you will be supplied with the words. The words do not come from ego’s reasoning or planning or trying to get. They do not come from analysis. They are simply provided, directly and in perfect supply.

You can see all you call other as having access to helpful words. More than thinking you know their character and what they are likely to do or say, simply remember the loving power supply to which they are connected. Allow this loving abundance to supply all you meet or think of.

With God there is no defense because God is your protection and the protection of the real Self of everyone and everything. See everyone who comes to mind as divinely protected and provided for. From this awareness can come specific instructions about your role. It may be that you can say or do something helpful. Remember that if this is necessary, ever-present helpfulness will simply flow through you and all you call other. It’s like turning on a faucet. Allow this flow, and recognize when you have allowed an ego thought to block it.

God does not protect illusions, and this is to everyone’s benefit. As long as you are experiencing time and space, you are always choosing between ego’s illusions and Holy Spirit’s illusions. Holy Spirit’s illusions lead you and all gently through and out of the hallucination you made. Ego’s solutions keep you in the belief that your nightmare is both real and fearful. Think of someone you know within your dream. It is always up to you whether you experience ego’s illusion about them or Holy Spirit’s illusion about them. Neither illusion is real, but ego’s illusion walks you away from Home, and Holy Spirit’s illusion walks you toward Home with everyone.

Holy Spirit uses illusions on your behalf and on the behalf of all you call other. This is why it is helpful to recognize that you don’t know what you want. Ego will make particular demands, but the one making demands is not really you. As you recognize that you can be offered a dream that carries you and all away from all the strife in the world, what the separate one you call you wants becomes less and less important. More and more, you see the opportunity to choose the Holy Spirit’s illusion as your joy and your relief, a relief you can share with all.

With God, you recognize the goodness-without-opposite shining behind all surfaces. Here is the relief. You dreamed it all, and here–behind all the illusion–is the benign reality, unharmed and undamaged. In your relief, you can let go of the idea that you need anything in particular. These ideas will haunt you less and less. You can instead relax in to the kind and loving flow of what carries you through and out of ego’s illusion. It’s another illusion to be sure, but it’s an illusion that comes from what you truly are as a helper in time of need. Trust what is here and trustworthy, and you have no cause for fear.
