Beneficence is everywhere, and it is this that can be relied upon. Whatever appears upon any surface, beneficence is shining behind it. You have a highlighter pen within you, and as you are willing to see the beneficence within and behind everyone and everything can become prominent. It doesn’t have to seem to have anything to do with anything in time or space. You can just become very aware that it is always here. As you become aware of beneficence, there is no need to try to analyze what seems to be going on in time and space. Beneficence is worthy of all your attention.
When you are with those you call other, think of ease as connecting you, arising, lifting you up, and making everything clear and obvious. There is everything here for you and all. Everything real conducts you into ease, joy, and peace with all you call other, whether they seem to be in your physical presence or just coming to mind. However they come, they come in being to share joy and ease with you. Ego would analyze their appearance, their past, their words, and their actions, but being is simply aware of being. From this quiet place, anything you need to say or do can become obvious and clear to you.
You can notice the beauty of anyone’s being and rest there, confident that they will be blessed. It is okay to put rest first. When you rest you give Spirit a chance to inform you of any saying or doing that needs to be done. Without quiet rest, you become accustomed to ego’s steady chatter about what you should say and do. We do not mean physical quiet. It is always possible to rest quietly in a situation that seems busy, loud, or even difficult. Beauty is not based upon any separate thing an ego would analyze, compare, or rate. It simply is, everywhere, behind all surfaces. You just learn how to invite it out.
Instructions are given both by Spirit and by ego. When you begin to associate Spirit’s instructions with joy and ego’s instructions with confusion and suffering, it is not hard to move with love’s flow. See love’s flow as being here for everyone, as calling with great appeal and even greater gifts. See how when you follow Spirit’s instructions, you make them prominent and available to all you call else. Everything works together, and everything as it truly is–it’s the simplicity of love. Rest in simplicity, and see that all is well.
Look at the idea of reserve with us. Think of being reserved in a social situation. Maybe you are watchful, protective of your separate self, analyzing those you call other to avoid what the ego calls dangerous or inconvenient for you. Notice that ego says you need protection and defense against what is unpleasant and threatening in the world. And now simply notice the sameness. What is the same behind all appearances is the same everywhere. There is no boundary or border to protect separate bits of the sameness that seem to take different and opposing forms.
When you feel stress or tension, this is you believing in the existence of borders that will protect you. Simply reorient. The goodness-without-opposite within you and all is the safety that is your true protection. Get to know your true protection and that of all you call other by resting frequently here today.
