There is a beautiful simplicity underneath everything that appears complicated. Remember that everything that appears complicated on the surface is meaningless. It has no value. When you don’t feel good, ego is sending you thoughts about the meaning and value of the seemingly separate components of the surface you see and experience. Behind all of it–here is where true meaning lives. Here is where what you are rests eternally. Here is where everyone as they are truly is. This resting place can lead to thoughts that guide you in helpful action. First, though, you must learn to set down ego’s suggestions about action.
If you’re not disconnected from anything as it truly is, how could you be opposed to anything? You, as you truly are–you oppose nothing. Everyone as they truly are–they oppose nothing. Their personalities and bodies may seem to come into conflict, but what they are underneath all of that never wavers. Learn to rest in what never wavers, and you won’t be fooled by sayings and doings that come from ego thoughts. You’ll be able to look instantly toward what you share with all beings, and you’ll be able to share blessing.
See yourself as flowing with beings rather than as contending with people. Contending with people is oppositional and comes from the perception that you are separate. Flowing with beings indicates an awareness that any instruction or guidance needed by anyone can become apparent to them in a way that serves all. Contending with people comes from the idea that threat is possible and real. Flowing with beings holds the memory that you are all held in peace together forever, and that peace can beam forth into every experience you have. Indeed, this becomes the purpose of all experience.
If the flow carries all of you in kindness and in love, then there is no need for worry. There is no need to plan, fret or resist if everything is taken care of for all of you. There is no need to attempt to handle things by yourself when there is no such thing as by yourself. There is always a greater power than the illusion of power that ego offers you. When you draw upon your actual power, it is a power that you share with all you call other. When you draw upon your actual power, you light up the path to it for all. Being boundless and endless, there is no problem in sharing it abundantly.
When you meet someone without judgment, it’s because there is no need to figure them out or decide about them. You don’t need any defenses. What ego would tell you to defend yourself against is a mere wisp of a shadow, no matter how it may appear. Does this mean that you have to embark upon a campaign to drop defenses? Not at all. Treating defenses as real makes them seem real. Allowing defenses to fall away as they do shows you that they were never truly there in the first place.
We rest with you in a truly defenseless and powerful place, and it is our great joy to share this power with all.
