The layer of illusion you hold in place can always be penetrated by the light. You are the one who opens it up. Tension and stress indicates that you temporarily find illusion safer than reality, and so you are attempting to tighten it up to block the light out. Once you realize what you are doing, it gets much easier to relax into rest and to wait for assistance.
The light is what everyone is. The light is what everything is. The light is what you have always been. All the varying surfaces make no sense at all. The ego makes sense of them for you and weaves a tapestry that it says is real, a matrix that it says keeps you safe. Meanwhile, you are the uncontained pretending to be contained. If you are, then everyone is. You are learning to step back from your pretending in order to be guided by what is truly here for you and all.
No illusion needs your protection. Illusions are very flexible. They can simply tell the truth or not. The illusory surface of anyone or anything is not what that one or that thing is. It is only how they appear right now. How everything appears at this very moment–it is exactly as you want it to appear. Ego will argue very loudly against this because it needs to weave a picture of you as helpless among the elements that seem to surround you or especially powerful in comparison with the elements that seem to surround you. The simple truth is that you are what all the elements that seem to be around you are, and all your surfaces are very flexible. The surface can tell the truth of you all as you allow it.
There is everything real to accept. The true nature of everything, being holiness and innocence, is entirely acceptable. All of the surfaces, what is changeable, need neither acceptance nor rejection. What is needed is your willingness to allow all the surface appearance to be configured in a representation of the harmony that can blossom among you all.
There isn’t special love that you can fence off and protect. There seems to be, and the ego will send you on missions to secure and hold onto this love. A love that is not the essential nature of love is not love at all, yet it is the ego’s best trick for holding your attention–love, recognition, and approval for what you seem to be. Now is the time when you can say no to all useless journeys upon which the ego attempts to send you. Turn instead to what you are with all, and you will remember what love actually is.
