Internal lever

Tumult surfaces in small slices, and then you learn the habit of relaxing into what is here for you and all without judgment. You do not need judgment as a tool. What is here for you and all is enough and can provide all the thoughts you need to guide you through your dream in peace. It can also supply thoughts to all you call other. How could it be otherwise, when you are one?

In every situation, there is an internal lever that releases you out of the tumult of the ego–the disorder, the chaos, the confusion. In all instances, the solution to this disorder is divine order, and divine order is immediately available to all without exception. You are learning to turn toward it consistently and to allow it to do its work. This is the meaning of “I need do nothing.” While there is nothing for an ego to do, nothing for nothingness itself to do, there is everything for divine order to do, some of it through the one you call you.

Stop and turn the power on. Use this internal lever to turn the power on. When you feel tumult, disturbance, stop. You must stop what you have started. What have you started? Listening to and believing thoughts from ego. So first you must become aware of what you are doing, and then you pause. In this pause, you can find one specific ego thought you believe, representative of all the rest. You can, with intention, set this ego thought aside. You can turn your gaze toward a reminder of shared sanity: “I call upon God’s Name and on my own.” (A Course in Miracles, Lesson 183) When you have turned in this direction, you have used your internal lever and turned the power on. It’s always on. The only thing you do is to hide shared power from your sight.

Underneath everything you perceive and ego’s every comment about what you perceive, here is what you all share. You all share innocence, holiness, peace, and joy, forever. No matter what the story of your making is attempting to tell you about separate selves, nothing at all can ever change that you share joy. You share happiness. You share peace. Joined with all your divine siblings, as you are forever, this beauty and holiness is all you can share. All else is imagined because you wanted to cover up love. Maybe you don’t want to cover up love anymore.

Why would I want suffering in high definition instead of peace? You can ask this of yourself whenever you feel anything other than peace. Here you are, covering up the peace of love with belief in thoughts from ego. Belief in thoughts causes experience. But here, in the middle of any experience, you can stop and remember love. You can stop in the awareness that any perception of separate personhood is only a fiction you wanted to see. You truly cannot have qualities separate from another because all true qualities are shared. All else is imagined, and you do not have to fear what is imagined. You can instead remember your shared power and gaze in that direction.

You are always guided, loved, and shown the way, and we know your full return to the awareness of your holy Self is inevitable.
