The reason ego seeks to see positive qualities is to make up for a deficiency of the past or to counter a possible deficiency in a future. It tells you that you want to see what it calls the good, but what ego calls the good always brings with it an opposing force of the bad. You cannot find them apart from each other, no matter how much you struggle or strain to include only the good in your life. It is only when you can look straight through what ego calls both the bad and the good that you can remember the goodness-without-opposite that you are with all together eternally.
Notice that you don’t need the service ego provides of analyzing another, but you do need the service Spirit provides of remembering another. There is nothing about another to figure out, no deeper nature to see other than the one you all share.
Think of abilities as being in a shared pool, available as they are needed. Just as you all share one true nature, you all share access to any abilities needed for the good of all. Of course, this is a very different way of thinking of abilities, very different than what you seem to have been taught. They are just here, and able to be expressed and used as needed. In this place that we are calling here, there is nothing that can be used to reinforce a fantasy of harm, a misidentification with separation. There is just a beneficial flow, and it is very simple. There is no planning, struggle, or striving here.
When ego uses the idea of responsibility, it burdens separate ones. But here in this place, the headwaters of the beneficial flow, here is responsibility. When you take responsibility you turn toward this source of true helpfulness. You are inspired from this place. The more you visit this place, the more your habit of planning and seeming to control melts away. It becomes obvious that it was never needed. You don’t need to fight against this habit. Just be aware of how it feels to have it engaged, and remember that you have an alternative.
No matter how bound by circumstance anyone appears to be, remember that this is a story of the body. Stories of the body have no power over the headwaters of benefit. All are worthy of ease and flow. All are worthy of inspiration. All are worthy of guidance from what is real. Notice how nothing can stand in the way of the flow from inspiration unless you want it to. Take this moment to see the simplicity of how it works.
