When you feel resistance, it’s resistance to seeing everyone as the peace they are. The resistance isn’t real, but the peace is. When you allow what is real to step forward as prominent and obvious, you can let the other fade away. You cannot pay attention to both resistance and peace at the same time. With practice, you notice that rewards come with your attention to peace.
Everyone’s true nature is peace, and when you are ready to allow it to shine forth, it does. It’s as simple as that. The trick is not getting confused by anything upon anyone’s surface that would tell you that they are not the peace that everyone is. Don’t be distracted away from what is real and present underneath all of ego’s trickery, and allow what is really here to make itself clear to you and all.
Nothing can stop you from looking toward the peace in anyone. You are in charge of your mind. No one you call else is in charge of your mind. See all minds joined in the peace that is their reality, and what need do you have to see conflict and disorder? Behind every appearance of conflict and disorder is the divine order that is real–the reality behind the illusion. Find your willingness to allow the reality to become obvious, and all are blessed.
“I have misperceived you, and I am ready to see you as you are.” This is what you can say to anyone who seems to cause disturbance in you. Take responsibility for what you are seeing and how you are seeing. You haven’t done anything wrong. You just got mixed up, believing ego’s thought that you desire to see an illusion proclaiming that someone you call else can be what it is impossible to be. You just believed ego’s thought that you wanted to see illusion. You will still go on seeing illusion for a while, but now you can see an illusion that Spirit provides. This illusion tells the truth about who you and that one are together. It’s like allowing a cloud of distortion to pass away. Find your willingness to remember your divine siblings as they truly are, and you will remember yourself in the same way. You will remember the Self you share with all of them.
As time draws to a close, everything gets cleaned up to show you innocence. Ego always needs wrongdoers and guilty parties. There is no question that guilt exists. Ego just has to decide who is to blame in whatever situation. Spirit has no need of wrongdoers but every need for you to remember and acknowledge the innocence and holiness that all beings share. Spirit can show you an illusion that supports the return of your memory of who you are with all. When you can feel that you are trusting in ego thoughts, remember that there is something much kinder and gentler to trust in, and allow Spirit to help you remember what is most helpful at any given moment.
