You can notice

When you rely on ego for a sense of stability, you’re relying on crazy chaos that is going to become oppositional and uncomfortable. It’s okay when you allow yourself to feel that crazy chaos. It means it’s becoming obvious to you to rely on Spirit. When you place a priority upon noticing how you feel, then it becomes clear to you that ego’s positives are false positives. Any joy the ego tells you comes from separate things in the world is not the actual joy you share with all eternally. As you learn to rest in this joy and to allow it to be in charge, it becomes clear that a temporary stab of pleasure means nothing at all. At each stage of this journey you seem to be on, something becomes very clear to you, and then it is easy to follow what is here for you and all.

You don’t have to “go to work on” people as they seem to be. No one has to change. It’s a reflection of the eternal in everyone and everything that you want to see. Just have willingness to see what is already and always here for you to see, and you will be able to see it.

If you find darkness, bring it to the light. When you feel not-good, here is an illusion to which you are clinging. You cling because it seems to define you, give you a safe border, or give you a temporary sense of expanded self that brings pleasure. This kind of pleasure is pain’s friend. One seems pleasant and desired, and the other seems not desired. But when you want one, you want both. Every situation in which you find yourself is here to teach you what lies beyond this set of opposites. When you find what ego has told you, what you believed, you can carry this thought beyond the idea of pleasure and pain and drop it into joy eternal. The quality of joy eternal is that nothing dropped into it contradicts it, diminishes it, or adds to it. It’s just here, entirely stable–a wholly pure reflection of God’s love for you and all. Visit this place often, and you find you never need to leave.

If another comes to mind and you feel disquiet, remember that you share actual innocence now. There may be an illusion covering up that shared innocence, but the illusion does not have meaning or value. As you practice looking beyond the surface to what is actually here, what is actually here makes itself obvious throughout your day. It steps forward as something to rely upon, something that is accessible to everyone, everywhere.

You can notice as ego constructs a defense how it feeds you a feeling of temporary safety. Ego tells you that you will be safe behind its barricade. You do not have to fight ego in anyway. Remember, ego is nothingness, and you don’t have to fight nothingness. As you sit patiently and look, what seems to have been there fades away. That is why we stop to notice the thought you were believing. We want to give you the opportunity to stare straight at the thought, remembering what is shining behind it. This practice lets you walk in peace wherever you go.

Because you are peace forever, you bring peace with you. Because all are peace forever, you have every reason to be at peace with them. Rest assured that you will be helped mightily in seeing the truth of the peace that is everywhere behind all surfaces.
